STORY LIST

Every student in AVTF 2 and above is responsible for completing three *out-of-class videos this semester.  Of which, two will be news related and the other should be creative.  All videos should be produced with the intention of airing on Tomahawk Today.

1.  Each student will be responsible for being the producer and reporter for one news package.

This student's job will be to find a story, conduct research and interviews, and then to write the script for the story, following accepted guidelines.  They will also record the voiceover narration for the story.

Grading for the producer and reporter can be found by clicking here.

2.  Each student will be responsible for being the photog and editor for one news package.

As the photographer and editor it is your job to find acceptable video to help tell the story which you are covering.  Work with the producer/reporter to identify b-roll, interviews, and good natural sound that increases the production value and overall effectiveness of the story.
Once the reporter has written the script, and received approval, you will put the package together for air.  Be sure to get approval from the producer/reporter before getting final approval from a senior producer.

Grading for the photographer and editor can be found by clicking here.

3.  Each student will be responsible for serving as either the: writer, director, cinematographer, or editor for a creative video project.

Depending on which role you fill for the production, your expectations will vary greatly.  However, this video will be evaluated using the following method:

1-10 points for Preproduction (scripting, overall story, etc.)
1-10 points for Production (camerawork, recorded audio, acting, lighting, etc.)
1-10 points for Postproduction (clean editing, balanced audio, good pacing & transitions, effects, etc.)

The total from those areas will be divided by 30 and the resulting percentage will be the grade.  This may be taken from the teacher, or from an average of the group members and the teacher.
